"Game of Thrones": 10 Questions for Season 7
Matthew McConaughey is ready to fight for his country, even if he has to fight his country, in a trailer for his new movie, “Free State of Jones.”
The upcoming film, set in in post-Civil War Mississippi, features McConaughey playing a disenchanted Southerner who attempts to found an integrated society during Reconstruction, even as his actions are deemed a rebellion.
Based on the true story of Jones County, it looks to be an inspirational movie, andthe post-racial aspirations of the plot may hint at designs on critical awards.
Directed by Gary Ross — who also directed “The Hunger Games,” “Pleasantville,” and “Seabiscuit” — “Free State of Jones” is scheduled for a May 13 release.
