fantastic four

“Fifty Shades of Grey,” “Jupiter Ascending,” “Pixels” and “Paul Blart Mall Cop 2” lead the field for the 36th Razzie Awards with six nominations each, followed closely by the “Fantastic Four” reboot with five.

First awarded in 1981, the Razzies (aka the Golden Raspberry Awards) recognizes the worst in film. The winners — or losers, as the case may be — will be presented Feb. 27, the night before the Oscars.

All five of the aforementioned films are nominated for Worst Picture, with worst acting nods also going to “Fifty Shades” stars Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson, “Jupiter Ascending’s” Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis and Eddie Redmayne, “Pixels” ensemble Adam Sandler, Josh Gad, Kevin James and Michelle Monaghan, and James again for “Paul Blart 2.”

Not to be outdone by its fellow Worst Picture nominees, “Fantastic Four” is also in the running for Worst Remake, Rip-Off or Sequel, Worst Director (for Josh Trank and “Alan Smithee?”), Worst Screenplay and Worst Screen Combo.

I honestly thought Minions was worse than all of these.

I hate the Razzies. It’s so easy to be negative. Sure, some of those films weren’t great, but why put so much effort into calling them out? Maybe you didn’t like Mortdecai, but to call Johnny Depp the “worst actor” is untrue and kinda missing the point. It’s a ROLE you didn’t like, not a bad job by the actor.
Also, I rather liked Jupiter Ascending for what it was.

    fantastic four should win

YO ADRIAN! Hope he gets that award because he actually might show up to get the award and roll with the punches!

I just saw Jupiter Ascending this weekend, and am honestly puzzled why people thought it was so bad. I found it enjoyable … although I could have done with about 50 percent less of Mila Kunis falling off of or out of things.

FF should win a special achievement award in singlehandedly destroying a comic book property from which it will likely never recover from.

I should see that movie. I thought it did bad because it came out at a bad time.

Will Smith had two movies in between After Earth and Concussion.

    Do yer research, bruh.

50 Shades of Grey.. you gotta look at the source material here.. I mean if anyone could make a semi-coherent work out of that mess.. they deserve an award..

Both Pixels and Jupiter Ascending are very enjoyable movies. Razzie judges are biased.

  • twincast

It’s still an awful film that romanticizes cult-like brainwashing regardless, though.

never said the movie or the books were great.. but if anyone can take that terrible book and make a coherent plot out of it.. they should get some kudos.. I just think when you know the book is a badly written piece of shit.. you can’t exactly give the movie a Razzie saying it’s a badly written piece of shit.. when it’s just adapting the crap it was given to begin with..

I watched all three and they’re all better than The Force Awakens. But of course, to get clicks, you have to follow the hype mind…
