DiDio & Lee Say Early "Rebirth" Response is 'Uncharted Territory' for DC Comics
When Agent Scully whispers “This is just the beginning” in the new trailer for “The X-Files” miniseries, she could easily be talking about the franchise’s revival.
Appearing today at the Television Critics Association’s winter tour, series creator Chris Carter signaled that he’s interested in producing additional miniseries. “I’m waiting for Fox to say we want more of these,” he said.
The network indicated it, too, might be interested, as long as the stars — and schedules — align. “The biggest impediment to going forward with ‘The X-Files’ was the schedules of David [Duchovny] and Gillian [Anderson[,” said Gary Newman, co-chairman of Fox Television. “Even the other night at the premiere, we were all laughing and joking about doing this again.”
The six-episode revival of “The X-Files” premieres Sunday, Jan. 24, on Fox.
