Logan Lerman and Jack Reynor Address Han Solo Movie Reports

Although Logan Lerman and Jack Reynor can’t exactly confirm they’re on the shortlist of contenders to star as young Han Solo in the “Star Wars” spinoff, both actors are willing to address the prospect — one a lot more than the other.

Speaking with MTV News at the Sundance Film Festival, the 24-year-old Lerman played it cool, saying, “I don’t think I’d be intimidated; it’d just be fun. But, I mean, I really can’t speak about it. There’s nothing I can really say about it right now, at this point in time.”

Reynor, however, could barely contain his enthusiasm, telling MTV, “Look, man, that would be kind of an incredible gig to get, wouldn’t it? Totally insane.” He added that although he hasn’t met directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, he’s a big fan of their work. “I think they’re the perfect guys to do that movie.”

Unlike Lerman, however, 24-year-old Reynor seems a bit intimidated at the idea of stepping into such an iconic role. “You’ve got to sill some pretty seriously big boots there, man,” he said. “We’re talking Harrison Ford here, dude. He’s not a chump, you know what I mean? … You can’t do an imitation, you can’t try and just emulate what that is. It’s got to be something new, and it’s also got to be something that the audience is going to respond to.”

Lerman and Reynor are said to be joined on the Han Solo shortlist by the likes of Dave Franco, Miles Teller, Ansel Elgort, Scott Eastwood, Emory Cohen and Blake Jenner.

Written by Lawrence Kasdan and Jon Kasdan, the untitled movie opens May 25, 2018.

Not feeling that Logan Lerman guy at all for it.

Chriss Pratt can’t act for shit. He was atrocious in Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World.

Yeah, I mean Logan Lerman can say he’ll act like a dick all he wants. I’ll believe it when I see it because I’m not seeing much enthusiasm for it.

“I don’t think I’d be intimidated.” FIRST mistake right there, the role of Han Solo should be intimidating, it’s an extremely iconic role. DO NOT cast that talentless hack Logan Lerman.

“the role of Han Solo should be intimidating” for non-actors like Scott Eastwood, Ansel Elgort, Dave Franco or that guy Ingruber (jesus chris…he is just a Ford impersonator).

  • ASFan

It should be intimidating for actual actors because they’re supposed to understand and respect the weight of the role. Don’t get me wrong, Logan Lerman is talented, but he is not suited for Han Solo.

Jack Reynor demonstrated more charm here. Logan Lerman acted like human valium in this interview.

he is better than half the actors out there

Logan has been on EVERY SHORTLIST, and never gets the role. He’s busy promoting another film at Sundance. It’s his job, as THE LEAD of the film, to make sure his attention is on promotion for INDIGNATION. He’s deflecting for the sake of his other film. That’s it. Or because he’s been given false hope before, he won’t give it much thought until he gets the role.

I question whether or not he wants Han Solo.
