"Revolution" Ends, "TMNT/Batman:TAS" Begins in IDW's November 2016 Solicitations
Fresh from her role in “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o is “in negotiations” to star in sci-fi film “Intelligent Life,” as reported by THR. According to the same piece, “Selma” director Ava DuVernay will reportedly be offered to direct the film within the next day.
“Intelligent Life” is written by the “Jurassic World” duo of Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly, for Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment. The film is said to be “about a U.N. worker in a department that was created to represent humankind in the event of alien contact. The man falls in love with a mysterious woman who turns out to be an alien.”
As reported earlier today by Deadline, DuVernay also has an offer to direct an adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s “A Wrinkle in Time” for Disney. THR says there’s no conflict between the two, and she may direct both. DuVernay, an Oscar nominee for “Selma,” has previously commented on passing on “Black Panther” for Marvel Studios, which will be directed by “Creed” helmer Ryan Coogler.
