"The Flash" Adds "Harry Potter" Star Tom Felton as Series Regular
Looks like the truth will likely continue to be out there. Fox Entertainment President David Madden said the net work “would love to do more” of “The X-Files,” in an interview published today (conducted earlier in the season) by Variety.
“We haven’t talked to the talent yet about Season 2 in any more definitive way than we had prior to airing the show, but certainly, it seems like there’s an audience responding to the show that would love to see more episodes,” Madden said.
Despite a mixed reception from critics, the six-episode “X-Files” revival has been a ratings success for Fox. Not only is the network up for more, so, it seems, is creator Chris Carter — last month in an interview with SPINOFF, he said, “There are a lot of ‘X-Files’ story to tell.”
The biggest obstacle, it seems, would be getting the stars back on board — Gillian Anderson responded that a potential return for even more would depend on a variety of factors, when asked by Zap2It. David Duchovny has been a bit more positive but still not definitive, telling Variety, “I would hope we could continue.”
The six-episode “X-Files” revival wraps this Monday, Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
