Fox Would ‘Love to Do More’ ‘X-Files’

Looks like the truth will likely continue to be out there. Fox Entertainment President David Madden said the net work “would love to do more” of “The X-Files,” in an interview published today (conducted earlier in the season) by Variety.

“We haven’t talked to the talent yet about Season 2 in any more definitive way than we had prior to airing the show, but certainly, it seems like there’s an audience responding to the show that would love to see more episodes,” Madden said.

Despite a mixed reception from critics, the six-episode “X-Files” revival has been a ratings success for Fox. Not only is the network up for more, so, it seems, is creator Chris Carter — last month in an interview with SPINOFF, he said, “There are a lot of ‘X-Files’ story to tell.”

The biggest obstacle, it seems, would be getting the stars back on board — Gillian Anderson responded that a potential return for even more would depend on a variety of factors, when asked by Zap2It. David Duchovny has been a bit more positive but still not definitive, telling Variety, “I would hope we could continue.”

The six-episode “X-Files” revival wraps this Monday, Feb. 22 at 8 p.m. on Fox.

The mini has been a mixed bag, so I hope they bring on more writers.

I love that Gillian Anderson appears to be the questionable one to get on board after the BS FOX pulled over her pay. She’s booked for a while so hopefully we’ll get more X-Files in 2017.
Can they please get Vince Gilligan, Frank Spotnitz and Howard Gordon involved along with bring back Wong and the Morgans? And can they not let Carter write anything ever again. Let him produce and maybe direct. Please no writing.

If they do make new seasons, please leave it to mini seasons (6-10 eps). I am not interested in following Mulder & Scully v2.0 (ie, Miller and Einstein) for half a season, with Anderson and Duchovny pulling half duty

    totally agree

the last episode with the suicide bombers was absolutely horrible

and the 3rd ep with the “horny toad” was quintessential fun X-Files ala Bad Blood, Clive Bruckman, etc

please don’t bring back x files….the episodes were stupid and the actors looked tired and old…..xfiles had it’s time in tv history. Now its time to just let go …
