Major "Justice League" #50 Revelations, Changes Lead Into "DC Universe: Rebirth"
Disney is moving ahead with “It’s a Small World,” a family film based on its 50-year-old theme park attraction.
Deadline reports the studio has hired Tim Rasmussen and Vince Di Meglio (“Meet the Fockers,” “The Girlfriend Equation”) to write the script.
Based on a pitch by Jared Stern, who wrote the first draft, the film was announced in April 2014, with Jon Turteltaub (“The Sorcerer’s Apprentice,” “National Treasure”) attached to direct. He’ll produce alongside “The LEGO Movie’s” Dan Lin.
“It’s a Small World” is a water-based dark ride without a narrative: It features hundreds animatronic dolls, dressed in traditional attire from around the world, singing the attraction’s theme song. It’s effectively a blank slate for a movie, much like “Pirates of the Caribbean” and “The LEGO Movie.”
