Comic Books, Film
Katrina Law, whose most notable recent role was Nyssa al Ghul on “Arrow,” has just joined CBS’ new pilot “Training Day.”
“Training Day” is set to take place 15 years after the film left off. According to Deadline, who broke the news of Law’s casting, the show will “focus on an idealistic young African-American police officer, Kyle Craig , is appointed to an elite squad of the LAPD where he is partnered with seasoned, morally ambiguous detective Frank Rourke.”
Katrina Law joins previously cast Bill Paxton (“Twister,” “Edge of Tomorrow,”) and will play Detective Rebecca Lee, an “LAPD officer with the LAPD’s Special Investigation Section (S.I.S.). She was rescued from human traffickers by Frank (Paxton) when she was 4 years old and looks up to him as the father she never had. Cast also includes Drew van Acker as LAPD officer Tommy Campbell.”
“Training Day” is currently in the pilot phase. If it gets picked up by CBS it will likely debut in the fall of 2016.
