‘The Legend of Tarzan’ Swings in With Epic New Trailer

Updated with new domestic trailer, too.

“True Blood” alum Alexander Skarsgard is no ordinary man in this U.K. trailer for Warner Bros.’ “The Legend of Tarzan.”

Directed by “Harry Potter” veteran David Yates, the film picks up years after the man once known as Tarzan left the jungles of Africa for a gentrified life in England as John Clayton, Lord Grestroke, with his wife Jane (“Suicide Squad’s” Margot Robbie) at his side. Now he’s invited back to the Congo to serve as Parliament’s trade emissary, unaware that he’s a pawn in a deadly convergence of greed and revenge, masterminded by Capt. Leon Rom (Christoph Waltz). However, those behind the murderous plot have no idea what they are about to unleash.

Opening July 1 in North America, “The Legend of Tarzan” also stars Samuel L. Jackson and Djimon Hounsou.

Without Brendan Fraser, this movie sucks

It looks amazing! Maybe this time Hollywood will get the character right. It sure looks like it. I can’t wait to see the whole movie!

  • Will Garcia

    I agree.

  • Rod G.

    Brendan Fraser played George.

This is John Clayton/Lord Greystoke/Tarzan played by David Yates.

    There’s a very big difference.

    George was a comedy.

    Tarzan is not a comedy,

Fantastic trailer. I’m excited to see this movie and will be there on July1.

Can’t wait for this movie. Hollywood has never gotten Tarzan right. Disney did a nice G rated version, but Tarzan is the ultimate badass. He’s basically Wolverine without the claws.
