After more than a year of speculation, red herrings and outright denials, the true identity of Benedict Cumberbatch’s villain in Star Trek Into Darkness may have just been revealed by Entertainment Weekly.
Parade’s End, a five-part miniseries that stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Rebecca Hall and Adelaide Clemens, will air on HBO beginning Feb. 26.
While the images debuted in the latest issue of Empire, Paramount Pictures has now released 11 high-resolution photos from Star Trek Into Darkness, which opens May 17.

While not revealing anything about the character Benedict Cumberbatch plays in Star Trek Into Darkness, director J.J. Abrams says, “He brings such a sort of force to it that I think that when you see the movie, all speculation aside, will be really compelling not because of any connection to anything past, but because of who he is and what he brings to it.”
