New cast members Christoph Waltz, Léa Seydoux, Monica Bellucci, David Bautista and Andrew Scott were officially announced for the 24th Bond film, whose title is steeped in 007 history.
The “Bond 24″ event will take place live Thursday at 11 a.m. GMT from England’s Pinewood Studios.
The famed character actor will join the Skyfall creative team with sources indicating the Inglourious Basterds alum will again play the villain, this time opposite Daniel Craig.
The next adventure of 007 reportedly will be written by Bond veterans Neal Purvis and Robert Wade.
Skyfall director Sam Mendes, who earlier said other commitments would prevent him from returning for Bond 24, has been confirmed to helm the next installment in the franchise.
After initially contending that other commitments would prevent him from directing the follow-up to Skyfall, Sam Mendes is now reportedly eyeing a return or the 24th James Bond film.
A new rumor contends The Dark Knight Rises and Inception director Christopher Nolan is in early talks to helm the next James Bond film.
Skyfall co-writer John Logan reportedly will return to tackle the screenplay for the next two James Bond films by himself. However, director Sam Mendes isn’t expected to step behind the camera for the another installment.
The once-shaky future of the Bond franchise is now more secure with a co-financing and distribution agreement covering the next two films. The still-untitled 23rd Bond movie will be released on Nov. 9, 2012.
