Mad Men star Jon Hamm will voice the lead role in Minions, the spinoff of Universal Pictures/Illumination Entertainment’s Despicable Me franchise.
At CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Universal Pictures touted its summer slate, including comic-book films R.I.P.D., 2 Guns and Kick-Ass 2, and revealed details on sequels to Fast & Furious, Snow White and the Huntsman, The Bourne Legacy and Pitch Perfect.
NBCUniversal CEO Steve Burke recently said the company’s strategy is going to be to make more franchises, starting with Ted and The Bourne Legacy.
In news that surprises no-one, the success of Despicable Me means that a follow-up is already in the works – as well as a spin-off.
