Columbia Pictures announced the official start of filming on The Amazing Spider-Man 2 with the release of an official plot summary and the addition of Colm Feore in an unspecified role.
Although Marc Webb’s franchise reboot doesn’t open for another 11 months, Sony has already announced a date for the sequel, which is being written by James Vanderbilt.
Sony has given the green light for screenwriter James Vanderbilt to begin work on the follow-up to the Marc Webb-directed franchise reboot. The Amazing Spider-Man opens on July 3, 2012.
