Josh Friedman, who wrote the Locke & Key pilot and served as executive producer of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, has landed the spy drama pilot The Asset at Fox.

IDW Publishing has confirmed that it will screen the rejected pilot for the adaptation of the acclaimed horror comic at Comic-Con International, followed by a panel featuring creators Joe Hill, Gabriel Rodriguez and the show’s producers.
Although Fox passed on the adaptation of the acclaimed horror comic, writer Joe Hill has revealed that fans may have a chance to watch the pilot at Comic-Con International in San Diego.
Despite hopes that the pilot rejected last month by Fox might find a home at The CW or Syfy, it appears as if the comic-book adaptation has reached a dead end: The sets are scheduled to be dismantled at the end of the month, with a Fox spokesman confirming the show won’t go forward.
Although Fox passed on the adaptation of the acclaimed comic by Joe Hill and Gabriel Rodriguez, word has emerged that producers are talking with Syfy and The CW about picking up the supernatural thriller.
