CBS Corp. CEO Les Moonves may have accidentally announced that Showtime’s serial killer drama Dexter will begin its final season in June.
The cast and producers of Showtime’s Dexter offered a Comic-Con International a sneak peek at the drama’s seventh season, and looked back on how far the drama, and the characters, have come.
Showtime has reached a deal with star Michael C. Hall to renew Dexter for two more seasons. However, the network’s entertainment president indicates Season 8 will “likely” be the last for the hit drama.
Negotiations between Showtime and star Michael C. Hall reportedly have reached an impasse, leaving the prospects of a seventh season of Dexter uncertain.
Showtime arrived at Comic-Con International last week with news about returning fan-favorite series Dexter and Shameless, as well as a teaser for the new drama Homeland, co-starring Morena Baccarin.
When Showtime’s serial killer series returns for its sixth season, it’ll be under the leadership of new showrunner Scott Buck, who has been with Dexter since its second year.
