At CinemaCon in Las Vegas, 20th Century Fox rolled out its animation, comedy, action and drama slates for 2013 and 2014, ranging from The Wolverine and Epic to Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters and Peanuts.
2013 sees at least two movies promising the end of the world (Comedies This Is The End and The World’s End), but also two movies set after the apocalypse (Oblivion and After Earth). It’s a year that has remakes of horror classics (Evil Dead, Carrie), sequels galore (New installments of The Hobbit, The Hunger Games, Kick-Ass, Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs and, of course, GI Joe: Retaliation) and a relaunch for Superman himself with Man of Steel. In other words, it’s a pretty packed year. But which of the movies due for release next year are you most excited about?
Fox unveiled its 2013-14 film slate, which includes the sequels to X-Men: First Class and Rise of the Planet of the Apes — called Dawn of the Planet of the Apes — and the 3D re-release of Independence Day, dubbed ID43D.
Nathan Fillion will join Logan Lerman in Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, slipping into the winged sandals of the Greek god Hermes in the sequel to 2010′s Percy Jackson and The Olympians: The Lightning Thief.
Bruce Willis will return as John McClane on Valentine’s Day 2013 in A Good Day to Die Hard, while Logan Lerman will go in search of the Golden Fleece the next month in Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters.
