Ahead of Wednesday’s premiere of the first trailer for director Fede Alvarez’s Evil Dead remake, FilmDistrict and Tri-Star pictures have released a pretty effective teaser that intercuts video from the New York Comic Con with scenes from the film.

The Evil Dead’s Bruce Campbell played host at New York Comic Con to world-premiere footage from the upcoming remake of the cult-horror classic, and it’s safe to say the film is going to be a hard R.
Sam Raimi, the director of 1981′s The Evil Dead, calls Fede Alvarez’s upcoming remake “so bloody, it will make your head spin,” while Bruce Campbell promises, “This is going to be just as memorable as [the original] Evil Dead without being the same movie.”
At CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Sony Pictures offered a no-frills presentation with footage from The Amazing Spider-Man, James Bond in Skyfall and Men in Black 3, among others.
Lily Collins, star of the upcoming Mirror Mirror, has been cast as the lead in the Fede Alvarez-directed, Diablo Cody-rewritten remake of Sam Raimi’s Evil Dead.
